The great trevally of our coast, the leerfish charges mullet in very skinny water, sometimes in the first metre behind the shore break. Its take-off is one of the most violent on the coast, and its powerful swimming punishes reels. A spectacular opponent, often released.

Sandy edges of the Bouznika–Casa sector, from the shore or metres off the sand.
Ideal conditions
Calm to slight seas, mullet present, low-angle light.
