Speed Jigging
Speed Jigging is active vertical lure work over ledges, wrecks and seamounts. Drop the jig to the depth marked on the sounder, keep contact and accelerate it through the water column with a consistent rhythm. Boat drift, pace and lure control make the difference.
- Season
- Year-round; the Strait fires from late spring through autumn, the Atlantic high grounds in summer.
- Tackle
- Speed Jigging outfits PE3–PE8, 80–400 g jigs selected for depth and current, assist hooks and abrasion-resistant leaders.
