Popping & Topwater

Poppers and stickbaits are cast at feeding fish, whitewater and bait schools. We read the birds, set the boat quietly and give you the angle. Then casting distance, retrieve rhythm and clean twitches matter. The strike comes visibly on the surface.

Season: Mainly spring through autumn, with additional cool-season sea-bass windows when conditions and surface activity line up.
Tackle: PE3–PE6 spinning outfits, 40–80 lb leaders, poppers and stickbaits from 60 to 150 g.
