Slow Jigging
In Slow Jigging, the drop is the key phase. The jig is controlled just off rock, ledges, wrecks and sand channels, and many takes come on the fall. Targets include dentex, pink dentex, grouper and John Dory, plus big meagre on the sand edges.
- Season
- All year on the coastal grounds; the Strait's reefs fire from spring through autumn.
- Tackle
- Slow Jigging outfits PE1.5–PE3, 100–250 g jigs, twin assist hooks and 30–50 lb fluorocarbon leaders.
